I would like to say goodbye to Autoit. It will always have a special place in my heart but I am leaving due to Python. I'ts been fun coding in Autoit for a few months and I learned practically everything about it since it is ridiculously easy to learn. As I said before, I'm leaving due to Python as it has far more features and can run on other platforms.
The problem with Autoit is that you have to code your app GUI for each OS, be it XP or Win7 ect. else it wont look right on one OS compared to another. I hate that. Also Autoit's performance is far too slow, I find a few drawing functions I made pin the CPU very easily. I've also noticed quite a few bugs that I had to code work-arounds for.
Finally a note to new programmers. Just from experience alone I would avoid Autoit for litterally anything other than apps that move your mouse and automate your keyboard. Don't try to program full blown apps with it as it is not a programming language that is capable of doing so.
I would HIGHLY recommend Python and avoid Autoit for even simple app development.
