Flexible Compiling

Hello,

Sorry if the Topic Title is confusing but didn't know the best words to use for my question

I am trying to make a script for our it environment that has some limitations on pushing maintenance scripts to our clients. So I came up with the idea to push little(small) scripts that serve as a downloader/executer for the real script.

At the moment we need to compile the source code every time by hand to edit the script that we want to use(ftp link) and some other variables that are saved as a .ini file.

the compiled .exe will then contain the name of the .ini of the task and on execution it will download the .ini file from ftp location and read from the .ini the task that it will need to  executed.

The scripts is working like I had it planned and solve our matter for the moment, but it still not is automated like I want it to be. I want the script to have the following options with the idea to create jobs to be executed true a GUI. maybe you guys can give me some advice on it.

  • a GUI editor for the .ini files ( This one i have some ideas on how to make it)
  • The script needs to generate random name for the .ini
  • Send the .ini file to our FTP location
  • Use that random name from the .ini and Compile the Downloader with path to the .ini just created.
